Day 36 Back at Disneyland.

Today we were back in Disneyland. We were up and out for breakfast and then on our way to the park. It's so nice that everything is at our doorstep and we can walk everywhere! We haven't needed the truck once! This morning we took off to rides we knew we wanted to see and grabbed the fast-passes for the ones we knew would get busy. We're getting the hang of things now & Megan is great at keeping track of when we're allowed to get the next fast-pass - it's a great system that allows you to jump in front of the line! Very nice when the line is a 45 min wait and you get on in 5 or 10 minutes - SWEEET! Yesterday in California Adventure Park we took in a few "shows" which were fantastic. We saw the muppets (in 3D) which made me think of you Dad, and our family time watching those characters! They even had the two guys in the balcony - it was great! We also watched Crush the turtle from Finding Nemo in a "performance" and it too was a great show! So all that to say we took in another 3D show "Honey I shrunk the Audience" tonight. It was unreal with the effects (mice nibbling at your feet, an explosion that blasts you with air and makes you dart out of the way without even thinking! HA) and Sarah did get scared by the big snake, but it was a good show. Our favorite on the Disneyland side is the Big Thunder Rollercoaster and I don't even know how many times we made it on that ride today - perhaps five! Joshua & David enjoyed Splash Mountain & they took to the 50' drop twice, Megan & I enjoyed a repeat of Indiana Jones - a bit too scary for Sarah and David & Joshua don't like how jerky this ride is - we like it!! You feel like you're going to get thrown out of the jeep (why is this so fun??!) ... We took a break for lunch, rode in a limo!!! and had lunch over a presentation.... in the end the kids got $100 in spending money for Disneyland, and we listened to a 90min spiel. Gave us a break in the middle of the day, a limo experience for the kids (Joshua was the most excited about this), a free lunch, and in the end the kids walked out with some cash that they are excited to spend tomorrow! :) Then it was back to the park to cash in those fast-passes we collected in the morning - Autopia is a drive-your-own-car ride which the kids enjoy so we did that (this time in the dark, kids thought that was cool), Big Thunder Rollercoaster (actually twice as we made it on again RIGHT before it was closed!), and more that my brain can no longer recall. We got in a lot of rides today though and had another fantastic day!!
Nearly every time we walk through the castle, Sarah wants me to take a photo of it. :) It is so incredible to us as adults, I wonder how spectacular it must look (and be!) in the eyes of a child!
We try to mix up the fast rides with "Sarah-rides" :) She is doing so wonderful at going on all these crazy rides (the Tums help as we stumble out of them!) but she loves the slow rides, like this one of Alice in Wonderland!
We took the monorail today - kids thought that was so neat as we cruised along the rails...
It went faster than they thought it would and they quite enjoyed...
... getting the back section all to ourselves (well for one way)!
All ready to ride the limo!!
Someone nearly fell asleep on the drive back.
One ride we all enjoy is Toy Story Blaster. You ride in cars and have controllers that you shoot 'Z' on the wall and earn points. Each time we go Daddy blows the score away. No one can touch him right now as he holds a 150,000+ score! I think Buzz Lightyear is going to call him into duty!
Coming off of Splash Mountain. The boys seem to have the stomach for this one.... the girls happily watch on the bridge (and listen to everyone scream as they freefall!!)
Joshua enjoying treats!!! Mmmmm.... cotton candy!
Sarah trying to choose between ALL those different Mickey ears!!
We took silly photos while we waited for the 3D movie to begin...
Another late night and we booked another night here so we don't have to race out Thursday after a full day at Disneyland... perhaps we'll even find a local beach and hang for a bit - sounds wonderful after the craziness of Disney! :)
G'night!
